I met baby Reed last week when the forecast predicated several more inches of snow and as the arctic air dropped the already cold winter temperatures. He was eight days old and cozy at his home in Baltimore completely unaware of the winter weather. I meet Mitch, Amy, and Reed inside and was invited up to Reed’s nursery to photograph their newest addition. Mitch and Amy have been on a journey in life starting as husband and wife and now are starting new roles as parents. They make an incredible team together. Both of them have desired to have a family and have patiently waited for Reed. When you wait for a gift, it makes the reality of holding him in your arms worth it and all the more precious.
Babies are little people. When they enter your life you begin on a fast learning curve to discover what they need, when to feed them, how much to feed them, what does that cry mean, how do they like to sleep, what keeps them up at all hours of the night, and how can you love them so much. There is no instruction manual that can prepare you for the love and joy a child brings. The newest of life gives a fresh sense of awe and love as you begin to watch your child grow before your eyes. Thank you Mitch and Amy for having me photograph your family of three. I loved meeting your handsome son Reed and watching you two love and care for him. I am excited for you two and the year ahead with Reed in your life. Come and see my time in Reed’s nursery. It was filled with sentimental items from generations past, to new handmade items especially for Reed. ENJOY!!!
