Joe and Meredith married

Joe and Meredith’s wedding took place on a farm in Mifflintown, PA early September. It is not any farm, but Joe’s family farm. Restoring the farm was a labor of love by many. Inside the lower barn they have the before and after pictures of all the work they completed that transformed their property. It is nestled among the rolling hills and farms about an hour and half from Lancaster! Sun Set Lake Farm  is beautiful and a perfect outdoor venue that includes ceremony and reception in all one location.

Meeting with each couple allows me to get to know the couple, hear their story, and to begin to build a friendship. It is important to be able to connect with your photographer. We spend most of my day together as I capture one of the most important days of your life. This seemed to happen immediately when I met with Joe and Meredith. When I sat down to go over the timeline and details with Joe and Meredith they already knew that they wanted to do a First Look! Meredith knew she wanted the time alone with Joe and to have the rest of the day to be with him. These two were so excited to get married! I love when couples are so thrilled about each other and getting married!! Marriage is such a gift and Joe and Meredith knew that it came from God. Their First Look was out on the dock over looking the new pond-a perfect setting to capture their excitement to see one another.

I love how Joe and Meredith chose to get married at his family’s farm. Maybe it is because I also got married at my parent’s farm or the that they will be able to visit the farm where they confessed to love God and to love one another as husband and wife. Friends and family traveled and spent the day on the farm. Whether it was sitting on a rocker enjoying the view, dangling their feet in the water on the dock, or talking in the barn under strands of lights everyone enjoyed themselves. As the sun was setting it was time for Joe and Meredith to exit! And let me just say what an amazing grand exit. . .sparklers and a motorcycle!

Joe and Meredith it was an honor to be there and capture your wedding-thank you! All the hard work and many hours was worth creating a beautiful site where you became husband and wife! And many thanks to Lyndon for second shooting with me.

Pictures capturing the extensive renovation of the farm are hung in the lower level.

John and Cassie married

If I was describe John and Cassie’s wedding day I would say it was simply elegant.  Cassie collected wedding images and pictures of details that she wanted to incorporate into her wedding. Everything about the day was thought through and planned according to their vision. The first time I met with Cassie, she was organized and shared all the details that were planned for their wedding. I love when a bride is organized and has a plan! Collecting images and details helps you to create a theme and feel for your wedding. Pinterest is awesome creative way to gather ideas and pictures as you plan the biggest day of your life. I will give you a warning. . . it is addicting. Knowing Cassie and John’s desires allowed me to know what they wanted and how I best could serve them on their wedding day. On the wedding day it is my job to know the details and be fully aware of the timeline. The only job that John and Cassie had was to be in love! They were experts at this!!

It was a Saturday afternoon in early August that I arrived at Hotel Du Pont where Cassie and her bridesmaids finished getting ready. Cassie was surrounded by her sister, mother, and bridesmaids. What an amazing group of close girlfriends Cassie had present as she slipped into her wedding gown and heels. Over at The Whist Club John, his father, and his groomsmen hung out and relaxed before the ceremony. I know the guys have it easy on the getting ready side of things. Before leaving for the ceremony Cassie was delivered a hand written note by John with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. A limo arrived and whisked Cassie and her bridesmaids to the church.

In the church John and Cassie confessed their love for one another through personally written vows. I will add that Cassie memorized hers! A Rolls Royce awaited the newly husband and wife to take them back to The Whist Club for a time of celebration with their closest friends and family. John and Cassie were purposeful and amazingly thoughtful in how their guest would experience their wedding. They were grateful for all their support and love that they gave them. During the reception, John surprised Cassie with singing a song he wrote for her. It spoke only of his love he found in her!

Again, I always love a few minutes at sunset with the bride and groom. For John and Cassie we headed to the rooftop of The Whist Club! Thank you Cassie for climbing three flights of stairs to reach the top in your heels!! John and Cassie thank you for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day, I was honored to be there! And many thanks to Tina Lapp for second shooting with me!

I love the personalized hanger for Cassie’s dress!Leaving Hotel Du Pont. . .

There is something so special about the first dance as husband and wife!John was leading their steps. . .

Shane and Nikolina married

It was on a Sunday afternoon in June that I arrived at Stone Mill Inn. It was Nikolina and Shane’s wedding day! I had met Nikolina and Shane there about a month before their wedding to see the venue and go over details of their wedding day. Nikolina expressed how much she loved this venue and when Stone Mill Inn had a day available she knew it was to be their wedding date.

I walked over to the guest house located at the Stone Mill Inn to find Nikolina surrounded by her bridesmaids and mother. They were finishing up getting their hair and makeup done. It was time for Nikolina to slip into her dress as it was almost time for their First Look. Initially, Nikolina wanted to wait to see Shane; however after discussing the timeline in detail they both opted for the First Look. Again, they wanted to have time to be with one another, family, friends, and guests who traveled to be a part of their wedding celebration.

I confess, I love when a bride and groom to do a First Look! Shane was positioned first on a stone walk way with his back facing Nikolina. Nikolina walked towards Shane in her wedding dress. They were alone, together. The anticipation inside me builds every time when a couple sees each other for the first time. We stood back, shooting away to catch their first moments seeing each other!  Those first moments when when Shane looked at his bride only spoke of love. From this point on in their wedding day they laughed and smiled together. Nikolina has the most beautiful smile!! And it is in every picture!

Thank you Nikolina and Shane for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day and to capture your love! If you want to see their Leather Craftsmen wedding album that displays all their pictures click here. Also many thanks to Tina Lapp for second shooting with me.

This is a beautiful venue located in Pennsylvania with outdoor ceremony sites with indoor reception availability.

details of the getting ready. . .earrings, dress, veil, and perfume. The whole first floor of the guest house provided the perfect location for Nikolina and her bridesmaids to get ready.Above on the left is Tina’s angle and on the right is mine; seconds before the First Look!

Having a second shooter allows for both angles to be captured not only at the First Look, but throughout your wedding day!

Look at the smiles!!

Above is a favorite from their day!!

They both loved the rustic barn that was on the Stone Mill Inn property and so did I!

The sound of the string quartet that played during the ceremony filled the air.Love the flowers and her touch of blue!My favorite picture of a dad looking at his daughter!!I loved how they made each other laugh and smile all day long.

Shane surprised Nikolina with a wedding band to match the details of her engagement ring and her smile showed that he did not disappoint.

Cocktail hour was served under the white tent outside, before moving indoors for the reception.

Their first dance. . .nothing but smiles!

I am so thankful to steal 10 minutes with the bride and groom as the sunsets for several more portraits!

. . .. . .. . .. . .

What a GORGEOUS venue! I love the stone. ANd that shot of her earrings in the window light? Perfection.
